In 2022, Nutrabolt partnered with Plastic Bank to offset all plastic used in its supply chain across the company’s entire product portfolio. Since then, Nutrabolt has prevented 4 million kilograms of plastic from entering the ocean — the equivalent of over 200 million plastic bottles! 

Plastic Bank is a global, social enterprise that reduces plastic waste in the environment, while simultaneously alleviating poverty in developing parts of the world. 

Nutrabolt partners with Plastic Bank to empower ocean-bound plastic collection members, effectively preventing the influx of plastic into the world’s oceans. This collaboration also provides vital social and economic support to collectors and their families, including access to health insurance, educational resources, nutritional sustenance, energy sources, and avenues for financial empowerment.

In its third partnership year, Nutrabolt continues its commitment to a better planet by offsetting all plastic used in 2023. In 2024, Plastic Bank collectors will collect 1,325,000 kilograms of plastic from vulnerable coastal communities on Nutrabolt’s behalf. That means Nutrabolt’s efforts will rescue the equivalent of 66,250,000 bottles from reaching the ocean this year, on top of the work already done in the previous two years. 

Plastic Bank has also empowered us to think about the manufacturing and distribution of our products through the lens of sustainability. Our partnership supports 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):: No poverty, decent work and economic growth, responsible consumption and production, life below water, and partnership for the goals.

Nutrabolt is proud to foster a culture of environmental stewardship in the workplace by organizing recycling workshops, facilitating participation in clean-up activities, and offering opportunities to learn about sustainable practices. These initiatives aim to inspire teammates to contribute to environmental preservation and drive positive change.

Additionally, the company actively explores creative opportunities to engage consumers in the Social Recycling movement. During SXSW 2024, C4 Energy hosted a dynamic street activation. The event showcased Nutrabolt’s collaboration with Plastic Bank, with collection sacks placed throughout the hub.

Inside the booth, marketing materials encouraged guests to join Plastic Bank’s newsletter by scanning a QR code. For every individual who subscribed, Plastic Bank pledged to collect 50 bottles. While stopping plastic pollution requires a collective effort across the globe, Nutrabolt is committed to working with Plastic Bank to be a pivotal player in the solution, beginning with our own teammates and consumers.
