On Nutrabolt Service Day 2024, the company’s mantra to ‘Grow and Give Back’ rang truer than ever. Teammates completed 1,450 volunteer hours for 63 different organizations across the U.S. and the world!
Our people showed up in many meaningful ways to serve their communities by volunteering for worthwhile charities that include youth programs, food banks, animal shelters, beach clean-ups, and more.
Some volunteered by themselves for the causes they care about most, while others joined in groups of five to 20 to serve in the same location. In our hometown of Austin, Texas, nearly 100 teammates gathered at our headquarters to pack boxes filled with healthy snacks and uplifting notes for local children, in partnership with The GiveJoy Foundation.
Hilda Treviño-Chenevert from our Supply Chain team served 20 hours for the Bearkat Rugby Alumni Association in Houston and The GiveJoy Foundation in Austin, making her one of the top Nutrabolt Service Day volunteers. She said these experiences have positively influenced her life, even outside of work.
“Volunteering for The Give Joy Foundation and the Bearkat Rugby Alumni Association has given me a sense of purpose in my current stage of life as an empty nester,” she said. “In addition, volunteering has helped me tremendously with my personal growth and improved my social skills outside my professional life.”
In alignment with our volunteer time off perk, teammates received full pay for their day of service and were encouraged to support causes that resonated with their values.
The hours volunteered also went toward our ‘Dollars for Doers’ program, where Nutrabolt donates $250 to the charity of a teammate’s choosing for every 20 hours volunteered (up to $500 total per teammate per year). The efforts of our caring teammates demonstrate the diversity of perspectives and experiences that motivate our workforce to maximize potential for all.
Alex Pappas, another member of our Supply Chain team, led the way as the top volunteer for Nutrabolt Service Day 2024. He dedicated 28 hours to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to help preserve the natural beauty of the Devil’s River State Historic Site in Del Rio, Texas.
“Nutrabolt Service Day was so memorable for me. I love being outdoors and seeing all the different types of landscapes and species,” he said. “Knowing Devil’s River aims to become a state historic site by the end of the year made it even more special. We had the opportunity to volunteer and help lay the foundation before the public can come out to experience its beauty and resources.”
Outside of the U.S., teammates in Canada created colorful birthday cards together for foster children, and a group in London linked up with Nutrabolt’s Europe-based charity partner BADU to lend a hand with youth sports camps.
Whether we’re creating performance products for athletes pushing themselves to new heights, or providing healthy meals to underserved families, our work remains grounded in the spirit of promoting strong health and well-being for all people.
“Nutrabolt’s commitment to ‘Grow and Give Back’ builds trust and connection with our teammates and consumers. People know they can count on Nutrabolt and feel good about supporting our brands,” Alex said. “Ultimately, our goal is to keep growing and expand our impact.”
We’re incredibly proud of our people for putting their passion into action during our second-annual Nutrabolt Service Day, and we can’t wait to make an even greater impact next year!
